The Collaborative Research Center 'Constitution of Meaning' (SFB 833; http://www.uni-tuebingen.de/en/research/core-research/collaborative-research-centers/sfb-833.html) at the University of Tuebingen, Germany, has an opening in a research project in Computational Linguistics for a computational linguist or for a lexical semanticist. The project focuses on the semantic interpretation of nominal compounds in English and German (Principal Investigator: Erhard Hinrichs; www.sfs.uni-tuebingen.de/~eh).

The opening is either for a post-doctoral researcher (funded on a fulltime position at the TV-L 13 German payscale) or for a PhD student (funded at 65-100% of a full-time position at the TV-L 13 German payscale, depending on the applicant’s qualifications).

Applicants in Computational Linguistics or Computer Science must have demonstrable experience in machine learning for natural language processing and with (object-oriented) programming (e.g. Java, Python, C++, R). Good communication skills in English are required.

Applicants with a specialization in lexical semantics must have demonstrable experience in the semantics of multi-word expressions and in computational corpus linguistics, as well as near-native competence in English. Programming experience is a plus.

The following academic qualification is necessary: completion of a PhD (for post-doctoral applicants) or completion of an M.A./M.Sc. (for PhD student applicants) in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science or a related field.

The funding of this position is available until June 30, 2017, with a possibility of renewal contingent on a successful project review.

Several Graduate Research Assistant Positions for PhD students are available at Laboratory of Ambient and Wearable Systems at the University of Alabama. The laboratory is engaged in several NIH-sponsored research projects covering monitoring of human behaviors in natural environment, biofeedback and simulation of physiological indicators. The positions are available in two tracks:
- Wearable sensor development. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on experience in design, prototyping and fabrication of digital and analog electronic circuits, microcontroller interfacing, C/C++ programming, as well as familiarity with Matlab, Labview and digital signal processing.

Pada hari Sabtu tanggal 10 Januari 2015, Nuffic Neso Indonesia mengadakan acara Holland Scholarship Day di Kedutaan Belanda.

Lebih dari 500 orang mendaftar untuk mengikuti acara ini, namun dikarenakan terbatasnya kapasitas auditorium Erasmus Huis, maka hanya sekitar 300 orang yang dapat diakomodir untuk mengikuti presentasi tentang beasiswa. Sisanya dapat berhubungan langsung dengan konselor Neso dan perwakilan Universitas di plaza Erasmus Huis untuk konsultasi langsung tentang proses pendaftaran. 

Acara dibuka pada pukul 10.00 oleh Kepala Bagian Urusan Pers dan Kebudayaan, Konselor Kedutaan Belanda, Mr. Ton van Zeeland. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemutaran film singkat tentang studi di Belanda yang disambung dengan presentasi dari Direktur Nuffic Neso Indonesia, Mr. Mervin Bakker yang menjelaskan tentang sistem pendidikan dan cara mendaftar ke Universitas di Belanda.

Presentasi tentang beasiswa StuNed diberikan oleh Koordinator Beasiswa, Indy Hardono. Indy menjelaskan bahwa beasiswa StuNed merupakan beasiswa penuh dari pemerintah Belanda untuk program Master, Short course dan juga Tailor Made Training. Total dana yang dikeluarkan untuk beasiswa ini dalam lima tahun adalah 30 juta euro, dan tahun ini akan diberikan untuk 250-300 pelajar Indonesia. Beasiswa Stuned dimulai sejak tahun 2000 dan sampai saat ini sudah mempunyai sekitar 4000 alumni. Pendaftaran beasiswa stuned untuk program master akan ditutup pada tanggal 15 Maret 2015.

Selain program beasiswa StuNed, dipresentasikan juga beasiswa OTS. Berbeda dengan StuNed, pendanaan beasiswa OTS tergantung dari skema yang dipilih. Beasiswa ini menawarkan untuk program Foundation, Bachelor dan Master.   Informasi mengenai berbagai program beasiswa untuk sekolah ke Belanda dapat dilihat pada www.nesoindonesia.or.id/beasiswa

Menurut Student Counselor Neso, Inty Dienasari,  salah satu persyaratan untuk mendaftar program beasiswa ke Belanda adalah siswa harus mendapatkan surat penerimaan terlebih dahulu dari Universitas di Belanda. Oleh karena itu pada acara ini juga beberapa perwakilan Universitas dari Belanda memberikan presentasi tentang Universitas masing-masing.

Acara ini ditutup dengan seminar mengenai How To Write Motivation Statement, yang diberikan oleh Marlindah, alumni Belanda dari Universitas Utrecht. Antusiasme peserta seminar cukup tinggi terlihat dari aktifnya mereka pada sesi tanya jawab. Salah satu pesan yang diberikan Marlindah pada seminar ini, “Biasa saja tidak cukup, jadi jangan pernah menyalin surat motivasi orang lain. Dukung kalimat-kalimat yang dituliskan dengan fakta dan pengalaman!”

Untuk kawasan indonesia timur ada beasiswa dari prasetiya mulya , berikut informasinya

Indonesia bagian timur adalah sebuah wilayah yang mempunyai potensi sangat besar untuk dikembangkan tidak hanya sumber daya alamnya namun juga sumber daya manusianya. Khusus mengenai perkembangan sumber daya manusia tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa wilayah timur Indonesia masih membutuhkan banyak dukungan pengembangannya, melalui berbagai kesempatan pendidikan berkualitas.
Mengingat pentingnya sumber daya manusia yang handal, cerdas, serta mempunyai jiwa entrepreneur, Prasetiya Mulya berinisiatif memberikan beasiswa bagi siswa – siswi terbaik dari Indonesia timur untuk bisa berkuliah di S1 Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics, kampus bisnis terbaik di Indonesia. Penerima beasiswa ini diharapkan bisa membangun daerah tempat asalnya untuk lebih maju dan mampu bersaing di kancah nasional dan internasional saat lulus nanti.
Untuk penerimaan tahun 2015, Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics kembali membuka kesempatan kepada siswa-siswi terbaik untuk mengikuti tes seleksi yang akan diadakan di Kupang (NTT), Jayapura dan Sorong (Papua).

Kegiatan Beasiswa S1 Teruna Indonesia Timur

• Seleksi terdiri atas rangkaian seleksi administratif dan tes potensi akademik, psikotes, diskusi kelompok serta wawancara. Seluruh proses menggunakan sistem gugur.
• Pemenang akan mendapatkan beasiswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan di program S1 Prasetiya Mulya yang terdiri dari 5 pilihan program: S1 Accounting, S1 Business, S1 Event, S1 Finance dan S1 Marketing.
• Beasiswa yang diberikan dapat mencakup seluruhnya/sebagian dari  biaya pendidikan, tunjangan hidup dan buku. Besaran beasiswa yang diberikan berdasarkan hasil seleksi tes.

Syarat Pendaftaran Beasiswa S1 Teruna Indonesia Timur

1. Pendaftar adalah siswa/i yang di tahun 2015 duduk di kelas XI / XII SMA atau maksimum lulusan tahun 2013.
2. Siswa/i berasal dan berdomisili dari wilayah timur Indonesia.
3. Melakukan pendaftaran secara online di www.pmsbe.ac.id/youngscholar. Peserta seleksi besiswa tidak akan dikenakan biaya keikutsertaan tes dengan melampirkan surat rekomendasi dari sekolah.
4. Memberikan surat rekomendasi dari sekolah. File bisa diunduh disini.
5. Melengkapi berkas-berkas pendaftaran yaitu:
   • 1 lembar fotokopi kartu identitas (KTP/SIM/Paspor/ Kartu Pelajar/NIS)
   • 1 set fotokopi rapor kelas X - XII (bagi yg duduk di kelas XII) / Fotokopi raport kelas X - XI (bagi yang duduk di kelas XI). Raport dilegalisir oleh sekolah.
   • Bukti Ijazah Kelulusan SMA bagi lulusan SMA/sederajat angkatan 2013/2014
   • Pas photo berwarna terbaru ukuran 3x4 (3 lembar)

6. Membuat essay dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan tema : Aku dan Mimpiku. (Format : panjang essay 1 halaman A4, spasi 1.5, font Times New Roman 12pt)
7. Membuat karya tulis dengan pilihan tema: Peran serta dan aksi nyata dalam membangun daerahku ATAU menjadi generasi muda, penerus cita-cita pembangunan daerah. (Format: minimal 4 halaman A4, spasi 1.5, font Times New Roman 12pt).
8. Menyerahkan / mengirimkan melalui kurir / pos tercatat berkas-berkas persyaratan di atas secara lengkap sebelum batas waktu yang ditentukan ke Bagian Admission Prasetiya Mulya Kampus BSD. Berkas persyaratan dapat juga diserahkan langsung saat penyelenggaraan tes, dengan perjanjian sebelumnya  kepada bagian Admission.
